Portland, Oregon — In August of 2007, the Portland Development Commission (PDC) officially approved the Development and Dispensation Agreement (DDA) that allowed Mercy Corps to purchase and renovate the Skidmore Fountain Building in downtown Portland.
The building will be reopened in the summer of 2009 as Mercy Corps's new global headquarters and will feature the Mercy Corps Action Center, an interactive space that will educate and empower visitors to help aid in the fight against global hunger and poverty.
The following video, from the PDC, focuses on this agreement and the revitalization of the Old Town/Chinatown district that Mercy Corps will be moving into next year.
