The armed conflict in Kosovo in the late 1990’s resulted in the displacement of over 800,000 Kosovars. Today, nine years later, it is estimated that 22,000 minorities are still displaced within the borders of Kosovo. The village of Badovc hosts approximately 80 displaced families and is preparing for the arrival of an additional 70 families in the near future. Mercy Corps, in partnership with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, local and international organizations and the local population, is supporting displaced families in their efforts to start small businesses and become self supporting.
