In Kyrgyzstan, it is estimated that between 2,000 to 15,000 children work in order to help support their families economically. Most of these children do not go to school regularly. In the capital city Bishkek, the Center for the Protection of Children provides support to working and neglected minors through a range of programs. One program in Kelechek neighborhood aims at reintegrating street children into the educational system.
