The Naulu, a group of indigenous mountain people, live in Seram Island, Maluku, Indonesia. They are isolated and typically rely on hunting and farming to meet their basic food needs. Historically they have had little interaction with communities outside their villages. Mercy Corps has been working with the Naulu to help them develop economic opportunities. This story is about an economic development project to help women earn an income so they can help to provide for their families.
