Northern Uganda has recently emerged from two decades of civil war. For the first time in many years people have begun to feel safe and return to their places of origin. They are living in resettlement camps or on their own ancestral lands. Mercy Corps is working with farmers' groups to boost agricultural and economic productivity. Oryem Can Ikweri, which means "alleviating poverty with a hoe" in the Acholi language, is one of the groups that is partnering with Mercy Corps.
